Inca Trail To Machu Picchu Full Day

We start our day very early (04:00 hours approx.) with your guide from your hotel in Cusco (or an agreed pick-up point) and head to the Ollantaytambo train station which departs at approximately 06:10 hours.

We board and travel through the sacred valley on the “Expeditions” train until we reach the starting point of the Inca Trail, also known as “Chachabamba” or Km 104. (2,100 m. / 6,927 ft.)

At approximately 07:00 hours we will be at the “INRENA Machu Picchu” checkpoint, where we must show our original passport and immediately begin the half-day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.

On our way we will visit the archaeological site of Wiñayhuayna “Forever Young” (2,650 m. / 8,747 ft.) and the famous Inti Punku “Sun Gate” (2,730 m. / 9,007 ft.), from this place we can have a first panoramic view of Machu Picchu.

Around 2:00 pm; we will explore the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, your guide will explain you everything about the history and mysteries of this incredible Inca city and we will be able to take the most important and famous photos in Machu Picchu (Upper Esplanade in Machu Picchu, Guardian’s House, etc.).

Then we will take the bus to Machu Picchu town, Aguas Calientes. We will board the train (18:20 hours) that will take us back to Ollantaytambo, and finally the transport to Cusco. (train schedule may vary depending on availability.)
