Itinerary
Maximize your adventure and minimize the effort. This itinerary is designed for those who want to reach the summit of Vinicunca with style and pure adrenaline, starting directly from the upper base camp.
04:00 AM – Strategic Pickup in Cusco.
- We pick you up from your hotel to begin our journey south. Starting early ensures we enjoy the landscape with the best daylight and avoid the large crowds.
06:30 AM – Energizing Andean Breakfast.
- We stop in the town of Cusipata to enjoy a buffet breakfast, essential for acclimatization and the energy boost needed for the altitude.
08:30 AM – Arrival at the High Base Camp (Starting Point).
- We travel in our private unit to the second base camp (located at approximately 4,600 msnm / 15,100 ft). Upon reaching this high point, the air is crisp and the glacier views are total. This is where the real adventure begins.
08:45 AM – Safety Briefing & ATV Practice.
- Our expert guides will assign your ATV (Quad Bike) and provide your safety gear (helmet and gloves). You’ll have a technical briefing and a quick practice session to master the vehicle on high-altitude terrain.
09:15 AM – ATV Ascent: Adrenaline at 16,000 Feet.
- Start your engines! We depart from the upper base camp on a thrilling off-road route. You will drive your own ATV through trails surrounded by alpacas and snow-capped peaks. What takes others hours of hiking, you will conquer in a ride full of speed and epic views.
10:00 AM – Conquering the Rainbow Mountain Summit.
- We reach the end of the motorized trail. From there, it’s just a short 15 to 20-minute walk to the main lookout of the Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca). Enjoy a 360° view of the Ausangate glacier and the mineral rainbow.
11:30 AM – Motorized Descent to Base Camp.
- We return to our ATVs for an exciting ride back down to the high base camp, feeling the Andean breeze and the power of the engine.
01:30 PM – Rewarding Buffet Lunch.
- We head back to our restaurant to enjoy a local buffet lunch that will replenish your energy.
05:00 PM – Arrival in Cusco City.
- We end the tour by dropping you off near the Main Square (Plaza de Armas), with the satisfaction of having conquered the mountain in the most exciting way possible.
