Moray and Salt Mines of Maras tour Half Day: From Cusco

In the morning our transfer will visit you at your hotel between 08:00 hrs and 08:30 hrs approx. We will have a trip of one hour and 20 minutes until we reach the archaeological center of Moray, which is located 38 km from the city of Cusco.

Moray is considered an Inca agricultural laboratory and is made up of 4 muyus or circles, which are concentric circular terraces, the deepest being 80 meters deep and the lowest terrace being 36 meters in diameter.

Also found within the platforms are temperature variations ranging from 0.5 to 1.5 °C per platform, which can reproduce up to 20 different types of microclimates.

Next we will visit the Salineras de Maras, which as their name indicates are salt mines made up of around 5,000 small pools, each pool producing approximately 50 to 80 kilos of salt per season.
These are watered by an underground saltwater spring, this process is completely natural and lasts almost two months for a growing season.
Maras Salt is highly sought after in all its varieties, but pink salt is the best quality. After visiting this incredible tourist attraction we will return to Cusco, where our tour ends at approximately 2:30 p.m., near the main square of Cusco.
