Moray and Salt Mines of Maras tour Half Day

08:00 AM – Pick-up and Departure from Cusco.

We begin our journey toward the Sacred Valley, enjoying panoramic views of snow-capped mountains and traditional Andean farmlands.

09:30 AM – Moray Agricultural Laboratories

Arrival at the enigmatic circular terraces of Moray. We will explore how the Incas used these levels to experiment with different microclimates, a true masterpiece of ancient agricultural engineering.

10:45 AM – Historic Town of Maras

A brief stop in this picturesque colonial town, famous for its carved stone doorways and its historical importance during the Spanish viceroyalty.

11:30 AM – Maras Salt Mines (3,000 Salt Ponds)

The highlight of the tour. We will head to the viewpoint to witness over 3,000 white salt ponds shimmering under the sun. You’ll learn about the traditional salt extraction process that has remained unchanged for centuries.

01:30 PM – Return to Cusco.

We start our journey back, arriving in Cusco’s city center just in time for lunch.

Salt Mines Entrance Fee: Please note that the entrance fee for the Maras Salt Mines is not included in the tour package. You will need to pay an additional 20 soles per person upon arrival at the site.
Moray Entrance Fee: The entrance fee for the Moray archaeological site is not included in the tour package. If you do not already have a valid tourist ticket, you will need to pay an additional 70 soles per person at the site. However, if you have purchased a tourist ticket beforehand, it can be used to access the Moray site without any additional costs.
It is essential to be aware of these additional fees and prepare to cover them on the day of the tour, as they are not included in the initial tour price.

How much is the entrance fee to Maras Moray?

Moray is included in the tourist ticket and it is mandatory to purchase it (130 soles per person or 70 for the partial ticket – valid only for 2 days). You cannot pay just the entrance to Moray.

How much does it cost to enter Salineras de Maras?

Entrance to the Maras salt mines is: S/ 20.00 soles per person. General Admission.

How to get to Maras and Moray?

You will have to use the buses that go from Cusco to Urubamba. The station is located on Avenida Grau (three blocks from Qoricancha), and they leave every 15 minutes. Once you reach the branch, you have to take a taxi to go to the town of Maras.

How long does the Maras Moray and Salt Mines Tour last?

The tour starts at 09:00 am and ends at 2:30 pm. around 6 hours of tours.
