Itinerary
04:00 – 04:30 AM Hotel Pickup & Initial Transfer
- Pickup from your hotel in Cusco. Begin the 2 to 3-hour journey via tourist transport heading south.
07:00 – 08:00 AM Breakfast Stop Stop
- in the town of Cusipata (or similar) to have a hearty, essential breakfast to prepare for the high-altitude trek.
08:00 – 09:30 AM Final Transfer & Trek Start
- Drive to the start point of the hike (usually Phulawasipata or similar, approx. 4,600 m.a.s.l.). Safety briefing and preparation.
09:30 – 11:30 AM Ascent Trek:
- Begin the 1.5 to 2-hour trekking ascent to the viewpoint. The hike is classified as moderate to difficult, with a steep slope at very high altitude. Option to rent a horse is available (additional cost).
11:30 AM – 12:30 PM Vinicunca Viewpoint:
- Arrival at the summit viewpoint (5,200 msnm). Time to enjoy the spectacular views of the 7-Color Mountain, the imposing Ausangate Peak, and take photographs.
12:30 – 02:00 PM Descent Trek:
- Begin the return hike to the starting point (the descent is significantly quicker, approx. 1.5 hours).
02:00 – 03:00 PM Lunch
- Board the transport and drive back to the restaurant for a hot buffet-style lunch.
03:00 – 06:30 PM Return Journey to Cusco:
- Drive back to the city of Cusco via the highway.
06:30 – 07:00 PM Tour Ends:
- Arrival and drop-off near the Plaza de Armas or at your hotel.
